Introduction
A traditional double cabin trawler that was built in Taiwan by Bluewater Marine the DeFever 41 is a popular trawler in the used boat market. Constructed on a solid fiberglass hull with a deep forefoot and a long keel that fully protects the running gear in case of grounding the 41 is a well built trawler that has withstood time. The lower helm is standard with port pilot house door making access to the side deck easy. A door from the master stateroom onto the cockpit allows ease of entry and valuable ventilation. A very convenient feature indeed. The varnished teak interior woodwork and theres plenty of it is impressively finished with curved features and matching grains. Topside there is adequate space on the cabin top aft of the bridge for dingy storage. The exterior decks feature teak overlay and cabin tops. The side decks are wide with raised bulwarks all around.
Vessel Walkthrough
Access to the wide side decks can be obtained through a port and starboard boarding gates or from the swim platform and transom boarding gate. The wide side decks offer easy access completely around the vessel. The master cabin truck offers dingy storage and access to the large fully enclosed flybridge. The flybridge has ample storage under the settee seats and a teak table with two teak chairs along the port aft.Entering from the port side sliding entry door you enter the salon area. Immediately aft is a large storage area with cabinets and the microwave oven. Amidships is access into the master cabin. On the starboard side is the U shaped galley area with ample storage cabinets drawers double stainless sink and all the cooking amenities of home. Forward and along the port side is the L shaped main salon settee with adjustable table with two folding edges. Across from the settee is the lower helm area and pilothouse door. Amidships fwd is the access into the guest stateroom. Down two steps the guest stateroom has a port side lower twin berth and a starboard side upper twin berth hanging locker ample under berth storage and ensuite electric head vanity with marble top and hand held shower. Back to the forward salon and down two steps you enter the huge master stateroom. The master berth is slightly to port of amidships. The stairs and door onto the cockpit are slightly to starboard of amidships. The entire starboard side offers a number of storage shelves cabinets and bookshelves. The master ensuite head is forward and to starboard with electric head marble vanity and a small tub/shower combination. To port is another area of storage and a large walk-in hanging locker. The entire interior has teak and holly sole and beautiful teak woodwork. Each cabin offers multiple overhead hand holds as well. There are numerous opening ports with screens and two large overhead hatches. The main salon features sliding glass windows for natural light. Engine room access is easy through the main salon sole and also through an opening hatch under the guest stateroom steps.
